Believe reality is what you were taught was myth.

Nicholas A. McGirr
About This Quote

A lot of people seem to think that there are two realities in the world. The one they are taught about in school or religion, and the actual reality of life. Some think that there is no difference between the two. However, there is a huge difference between the two.

The one they are taught about in school or religion is just that, a myth! It isn’t real! They teach us that the sun goes around the earth and the moon orbits it. That we came from monkeys and not apes. That there are giants living in caves on the other side of the world, who eat people for breakfast.

Yet, on some level everyone knows this is all wrong. Yet, what many don’t understand is that you can still believe these things if it makes you happy, without actually believing them to be true! Many people live their entire lives thinking that something they learned in class or religion is true, but then find out it isn’t when they get older. This quote helps them change their thinking because they realize that what they were taught was wrong.
